PRESENTATIONS

Presentations about the London riots were presented on 23rd of November. As we listened to the different presentations and writing down the main points it was noticed that the theme in all the presentations was the cause and consequences of London riots. There were five groups in total and here is a summary of what all the groups discussed about.
The first presentation was made by Timmy and Ayo and below are short notes on what they discussed about.

• Riots started on 6th August 2011
• £200 million worth of property damage was incurred ,3100 people were arrested.
• Politician were told to intervene to condemn the riots.
• After three days of rioting it spread to other cities

The second presentation was made by Amal and Joy and this were some of the points they discussed about

• Death of Mark Duggan
• Spread of the riots to other cities
• Economic and political issues
• Use of visual images to show the effects of the riots
• Harassment by the police

Happiness & James were the third group to present. Below are the main points they discussed

• Riots claimed to start on 6th August in Tottenham

• Economic situation

Fejiro & Ishan were the fourth group to present they discussed the following points

• Lack of fathers
• Social exclusion
• Weak policing
• Racism
• Opportunism
