My lifestyle has changed from the day I travelled from Kenya to UK. The standard of life has risen and more dependency is needed. Below are some of the factors that have changed or affected the quality of life in University of Glamorgan.
Firstly, the climate here is one of the main factors affecting me. In Kenya the weather has never been below 18 Celsius meaning it is warm back at home however, in the UK the weather always ranges between 10 Celsius to as low as -7 Celsius. This drastic change of climate has given me a had time to adapt also I cannot wait to experience the real winter life.
Secondly, for the first month in the University I rarely ate much since the types of meals sold around were different also the way of cooking was different thus made me loose weight. Later I discovered some of the Asians shops sell some of Kenyan local food stuff such as beans, Kenyan rice and many more this made me happy since from that day I usually cook my Kenyan meals.
Thirdly, the mode of dressing has changed in Kenya I used to wear light clothes because it was always sunny here even though it is sunny it is still cold so the new trend of dressing is wearing warm clothes and wearing many clothes to avoid getting cold. Also when in Kenya I loved wearing sandals but when I came in the UK the cold here cannot let one wear them rather it is warmer when one wears boot and other warm shoes.
Fourthly, When in Kenya I loved speaking Swahili most of the times but after I came in the UK, I had to speak English more often since most of the people are whites and international students from other countries.
My sleeping patterns too has changed since nowadays i sleep late because of the home-works given or maybe am out partying because when i was in Kenya, it was hard to go partying till morning because my parents were strict.
